Mission Statement
The Greater Huntsville Humane Society (GHHS) was incorporated in 1969 by 39 charter members as a non-profit, charitable (501) (c) (3) organization. Our mission is to promote the humane treatment of animals. We operate a NO- KILL animal shelter for homeless and unwanted animals and conduct an adoption program to place these animals into suitable homes. We are a privately funded organization and we receive no tax dollars, no government funds and no funds from any national humane organization. We depend entirely on donations, fundraisers and adoptions for funds. All donations to GHHS are tax deductible. We take in pets of all kinds and work to find them the best possible homes. Due to large amounts of unwanted animals, there may be a wait to get an animal into the Humane Society.
Description
We are actively seeking kind-hearted individuals with a passion for helping orphaned pets find new loving homes. Volunteers are needed to help maintain our facility and socialize our shelter pets.
