Mission Statement

Ramapo NYC exists so that children, young people, and caring adults can connect, learn, lead, and thrive together. We do this by transforming schools, organizations, and systems to prioritize youth voice and contribution, and to intentionally cultivate caring, inclusive, equitable, and healing communities.

Description

Ramapo NYC is the combination of three storied organizations that have come together to help communities and schools build positive, healing spaces for young people. The three organizations-Ramapo Training, The Youth Development Institute (YDI), and The National School Climate Center (NSCC)--have a combined 150 years of experience supporting youth, families, educators, and communities.

Ramapo NYC combines Ramapo Training’s expertise in coaching and training adults in the skills and techniques that lead to supportive communities, NSCC’s national leadership in developing systemic capacity for school climate improvement, and YDI’s unique approach to developing and sustaining high quality, youth-centered programming and services.

Together, the organizations provide offerings to thousands of young people and youth-serving adults each year.
