Mission Statement

As the "local champion" for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, The Sweet Pea Foundation's mission is to encourage reading by providing a free, age specific, book monthly directly mailed to children from birth up to their fifth birthday in the Forest Hill community of Harford County, Maryland.

Description

The Sweet Pea was founded July 19, 2007 and was named after our son's birth month flower. We believe reading regularly with your children during their preschool years is the foundation towards a successful education. Dolly Parton's Imagination Library currently has 786 programs in forty-three (43) states and over 435,000 books are mailed to preschoolers per month. Imagination Library is in Canada and the United Kingdom. The only criteria for this program are age and residence.
