FOOD 4 THE FAMILIES INCORPORATED

Description

In 2011, my mother Karla Wallace, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It was an extremely hard time for not only her, but for our entire family. I was about to begin my sophomore year of high school when my dad gave my brother and me the bad news. I didn't know what to think, I was shocked and scared to death, however I had no choice but to move on with my day to day life.

The one positive in the midst of those trying times, was that I went to a great school and played football and baseball with a great group of kids and families. While my mom was being treated, my friend's families came together to provide us with a delicious home cooked or catered meals, at least two or three times a week.

This was not only a huge help and convenience for our family, but it allowed us to regain a sense of normalcy around the dinner table again.


The goal of Food 4 the Families is to bring happiness and delicious hot meals to the home's of families that have someone battling cancer.
