Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.

Our aim is to promote/preserve America's only original artform, jazz. We do this in three ways:
1) We produce a yearly, free festival presenting the best of local and regional jazz artists, and at least one nationally known artist , because we feel that people need to be presented this great artform in a festival atmosphere to draw in new listeners, re-newing the 'fan' base of the genre.
2) We pay these artists an honest paycheck to help them financially(over 60K paid to local/regional artists in 13 years); we don't do what many festivals do and only offer a small stipend for this performance.
3) We try to have at least one youth group or young, up-and-coming artist on our shows; and again, we pay them for their performance.
The Takoma Park JazzFest is an annual, free festival, presented on the main street of Takoma Park, MD. We recently have expanded to two stages, letting us present 14 sets of jazz and jazz-related music all day(11 am-6 pm). We also have a 'midway' down the street, with artist/crafter booths, and discounted community booths as well, plus several food vendors. We also try to have free activities for children in our midway mix. Our being on the main street also benefits the local merchants, both giving them a better than usual business day, and introducing new residents to these businesses.
