Mission Statement

The ministry provided through this mission is in the form of both practical assistance to the local residents, helping them to recover and re-establish their homes (Matthew 25) and spiritual activities focusing on outreach to evangelize the lost and connect unchurched believers (Matthew 28).

The mission's ministry focus is intentionally multi-cultural and inter-denominational reaching across the two people groups - unchurched residents and volunteers.

In support of the five purposes of the church, the emphasis of the mission will be:

Reconstruction

Spiritual Restoration

      • Provide a place to meet and to build relationships (Fellowship)
      • Promote spiritual restoration/encouragement
        • Evangelistic Outreach/Share the Gospel (Evangelism)
        • Gathering events - Praise and Worship (Worship)
        • Teaching obedience / Discipleship / Bible Studies (Discipleship)

We are developing the scope of the mission incrementally. We are building partnerships with local and distant churches and para-church ministries. We are leveraging the network that we have built over the past months to encourage volunteers to augment our team.

Description

Our volunteer camp is separate from, but co-located with Little Zion Baptist Church in Waveland, MS. Our total capacity is 30 volunteers in our three air conditioned bunk-houses. However we can accommodate additional volunteers on cots and air mattresses in our Quonset tent. We also have heated showers and bathrooms on the grounds.

We have limited accommodations for RV's. The RV's shown are for the long term volunteers living at the camp.

Volunteers need to bring their own flashlight, sleeping bag / blankets, pillows, towels, and personal items.Volunteer Info

We have wireless broadband access to the internet. This capability will help you stay in touch with your friends and family.

We have a simple but adequate kitchen for use by the volunteer teams, two propane stoves, two refrigerators and two chest freezers.
