BOARD ON AGING AND LONG-TERM CARE Mission Statement

The mission of the Board on Aging and Long-Term Care is to advocate for the interests of the state's citizens in need of long-term care.

In pursuit of this mission, the Board promotes improvement of conditions in long-term care. The Board serves the individual; monitors the development, implementation and outcome of long-term care policy; makes recommendations, stimulates public interest and provides education regarding universal issues affecting long-term care. The Board will recommend to the Governor and to the Legislature improvements to the long-term care system. Aug 2001

Description

Volunteer Ombudsman Program The Volunteer Ombudsman Program is a service that was developed to assist residents of nursing homes. Established in 1994 by the Board on Aging and Long Term Care, the Volunteer Ombudsman Program increases the supplemental services provided to nursing home residents, and as of May 2007, community based residential facility residents.
