Mission Statement
The Mike James Foundation began the Mike James Day Celebration as a grassroots effort that seeks to bring together Suffolk County residents, community leaders, city officials and businesses to develop ideas that assist with providing safe neighborhoods, eliminating health disparities and promoting healthy families. This free community event engages members of the community to provide resourceful information, food and live entertainment to a very diverse audience. The Foundation believes that by working together they can make a positive impact in the lives of the Suffolk County citizens.
Description
The Mike James Foundation will host its 4 th Annual Mike James Day, which is a family friendly FREE day in the park for the city of Amityville. The Foundation has partnered with the Office of Minority Health and the Town of Babylon Parks and Recreation to provide a voter's registration drive, free immunizations, free HIV testing and more. Children will enjoy free face painting, carnival games, rock walls, snow cones, caricatures and balloon animals.
The Free Day in the park will also feature an old school concert, from artist suck as Positive K, Chub Rock, and Dana Dane.
