The mission of Virtuous Diamonds In The Rough is the pursuit of the following principles. Commitment: Inspire pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and instill a sense of hope in the future. Responsibility: Empower youth in establishing goals and following through on commitments. Possibility: Expand the perspective of young people to make them aware of life's possibilities. Support: An individual is dramatically influenced by their support system, so we will surround young people in a caring, inclusive learning environment.

Description

irtuous Diamonds in the Rough is a 501(C)-3 nonprofit agency providing mentoring programs for young girls between the ages of 6 and 17 years old in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. Our program forms partnerships with local school districts, youth programs, youth groups and local businesses. Our goal is to foster a commitment to young people that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in their future. Only through personal relationships, can a sense of individual responsibility be reestablished to give youth the commitment to follow through on a path to adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
