Mission Statement
The Foster Care Citizen Review Board is dedicated to contributing to the welfare of every child in substitute care in Snohomish County, Washington, as well as addressing the needs of the family in a dependency action.
Description
The Foster Care Citizen Review Board was established in 1989 by the the Washington State Legislature to function in an adivsory capacity to the Judiciary, The Department of Social and Health Services and the Legislature, and specifically, to provide periodic case review to every child in foster care and to offer committed citizens a way to contribut to the welfare of children in foster care in Washington State.
The FCCRB is a part of Snohomish County Superior Court, and is made up of citizens who volunteer their time to review the details in all cases of children placed in the foster care system in Snohomish County.
The FCCRB is not a court of law, however, each review is an administrative court review, and a Superior Court Judge receives a written report that includes the board's recommendations regarding all aspects of the child's dependency.
