FeedMore is the umbrella organization that brings together the Central Virginia Foodbank, Meals on Wheels Serving Central Virginia and the Community Kitchen, helping to deliver operational efficiencies and increase feeding capacity and meal quality to more effectively and efficiently fight hunger in our region.
FeedMore’s diverse hunger relief programs reach a wide geographic area for these neighbors in need, whether they reside in rural, suburban, or urban localities. Meals on Wheels serves 14 localities: the Cities of Richmond, Petersburg, Hopewell, and Colonial Heights, as well as the counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Louisa, New Kent, Powhatan, and Prince George. The Food Bank serves 31 counties and five cities, from the Northern Neck to Louisa County and south to the North Carolina border.
The Central Virginia Foodbank, a FeedMore organization, fights hunger in our region by providing:
- Food and grocery products to an extensive network of partner agencies who serve individuals and families in need; and
- Hot, healthy meals to at-risk children in summer and after-school programs through the Kids Café and weekend shelf stable meals through the BackPack program.
Meals on Wheels Serving Central Virginia, a FeedMore organization, fights hunger in our region by delivering:
- Nutritious meals to homebound seniors and disabled people who cannot shop or cook for themselves; and
- A range of goods and services to improve quality of life supported through daily social interaction and safety checks, nutritional supplements, Meals for Pets, etc.
The Community Kitchen, a FeedMore organization, fights hunger in our Central Virginia region by preparing nutritious meals for distribution by the Foodbank and Meals on Wheels. Cost efficiencies, while maintaining quality, are realized through volume production, the assistance of volunteers and the use of some donated food.
