Mission Statement
Milestones Autism Resources improves the lives of autistic individuals, families, caregivers and professionals by educating, coaching, and connecting them with trusted resources.
Description
In 2003, Ilana Hoffer Skoff and Mia Buchwald Gelles, founders of Milestones, met in a speech therapist's waiting room, bonding over their shared experiences raising children with autism. Through mutual support, they discovered the efficacy of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and decided to extend their knowledge to help other families. This led to the inception of Milestones Autism Conference in Cleveland, with the support of their husbands and community. The conference's success highlighted the necessity of Milestones in Northeast Ohio, prompting its growth into a trusted resource for autism education. Today, Milestones serves thousands of families and professionals, hosting an annual conference drawing attendees nationwide, and continues to advance autism awareness and support in collaboration with the Cleveland community.
