Description

The Panhandle Animal Shelter serves Bonner County, Idaho, providing for approximately 2,200 stray or surrendered animals every year. At the shelter, cats and dogs receive a safe, nurturing environment and the opportunity to be placed into qualified new adoptive homes. Our programs also assist in the safe and prompt return of lost pets.

Browse our website to learn more about Panhandle Animal Shelter. The shelter’s outreach programs provide support for community pets and their families, including spay and neuter vouchers for limited-income households, affordable microchipping, a community cat spay and neuter program and a pet food bank. We also have a community Helpline 208-217-4453 and our Home to Home program. Meanwhile, our popular Thrift Shop provides important support through sales of gently used merchandise available at excellent prices.

We are a community focused, non profit, no-kill animal shelter that helps animals in and out of our shelter, using education, spay and neuter, microchips, and low income programs. We care for approximately 1600 cats and dogs annually in our 28000 square foot shelter.
