Mission Statement

The mission of Operation Patriot Foundation, Inc., is to pay tribute to those who protect us daily - fire fighters, law enforcement, emergency responders and our active and veteran military forces, and to raise money for organizations representing these men and women who protect us. We hold an annual community based ceremony honoring these individuals.

Our intentions are simple. To pay tribute to and help those who risk their lives for us daily and provide support to these people and their families through fund raising and ceremony in their honor.

We are a 501(c) non-profit organization organized to pay tribute to and thank those who protect us, our property and our freedom.

State of New York LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION Commemorating the 8th Annual Operation Patriot
festivities, Ontario Beach State Park, Rochester, New York, to be held on
September 5-6, 2008

WHEREAS, Organizations and events which serve the interests of the people
of the Empire State merit the commendation of this Legislative Body; and

WHEREAS, Veterans of the Armed Services from the State of New York, who
have served so valiantly and honorably in wars in which this country's
freedom was at stake, as well as in the preservation of peace in peacetime,
deserve a special salute from this Legislative Body; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved with great respect and reverent
esteem to pay tribute to the men and women who so courageously serve and
have served in the Armed Forces of the United States; and

WHEREAS, It is also the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished police officers, firefighters and citizens who
devote themselves to public service, demonstrating great courage and
diligence in providing for the care, welfare and safety of the citizens of
their communities and this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 8th Annual Operation Patriot festivities; this auspicious
event will be held at Ontario Beach State Park in Rochester, New York, on
September 5-6, 2008; and

WHEREAS, The Operation Patriot Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit
organization dedicated to bringing awareness to what our nation's and
state's "Heroes" do to protect Americans; it aspires to show troubled youth
alternatives for their future while offering the public a family-friendly
festival to enjoy during the important yet tragic anniversary of September
11, 2001, in the nation's history; and

WHEREAS, The mission of the Operation Patriot Foundation, Inc. is to pay
tribute to those who protect us daily - firemen, law enforcement, emergency
responders and our active and veteran military forces, and to raise money
for organizations representing these men and women who protect us; it holds
an annual community-based ceremony honoring these individuals; and

WHEREAS, Operation Patriot began on September 23, 2001, just 12 days after
the terrorist attacks on the United States; it was organized to say "Thank
You" to all who protect Americans, their property, and their freedom; and

WHEREAS, With the visionary leadership of its Board of Directors, Operation Patriot has had seven years of continued success; it
is supported by many individuals and organizations, and has raised much
needed funds to help firefighters, police officers and military personnel;
and

WHEREAS, Among the organizations benefiting from Operation Patriot are the:
Salvation Army's New York City Relief Effort, Salvation Army's Homeless
Veterans Programs, National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, and C.O.P.S.
(Concerns of Police Survivors); and

WHEREAS, The 8th Annual Operation Patriot series of events commences on
Friday, September 5th with "Cheers to Our Heroes"; on Saturday, September 6
th, the "Let's Roll" Tribute Ride is scheduled in the morning, with the
Operation Patriot Ceremony in the afternoon; and

WHEREAS, Operation Patriot festivities will include a ceremony paying
tribute to fire fighters, law enforcement and the nation's active and
veteran military forces; additional activities include static displays and
demonstrations from honorees; live entertainment will also be provided on
both September 5th and 6th; and

WHEREAS, Our Nation's veterans and veterans organizations, and our
dedicated public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the
preservation of order and the protection of others, deserve to be
recognized, commended and thanked by the people of the State of New York
for their service and for their dedication to their communities, their
State and their Nation; they are worthy and due full praise for their
commitment and noble endeavors; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organizations
and events of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized by all the citizens of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 8th Annual Operation Patriot festivities on September 5-6,
2008, at Ontario Beach State Park in Rochester, New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mark J. Rossney President, Operation Patriot Foundation,
Rochester, New York. ADOPTED IN SENATE ON May 28, 2008 By order of the Senate Steven M. Boggess, Secretary
