Mission Statement
The Living Room of Brevard strives to promote the well-being of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered communities by:
(a) Serving as a sanctuary for all Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered people and a focal point for community organizing.
(b) Providing programs and services that empower, educate, and entertain the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered community, and strengthens the intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered people through these programs and services.
(c) Building strategic alliances for the purpose of increasing influence, improving effectiveness, and strengthening relationships between the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered community and the broader public.
(d) Celebrating our differences by fighting discrimination, inequality, oppression, and injustice.
Description
The Living Room of Brevard, Inc. was formed to create a GLBT community cetner for the Sapce Coast and help build the GLBT community in our area.
Currently we are focused on fund raising and community events.
We created the first Space Coast Pride festival in 2008, which was a great success. We put on events such as Gay Bowling, Gay Skate, Thursday Coffee Clutch and Sterling cruise to provide activities for GLBT outside of the bars.
