Musicians On Call (MOC) is a nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients, families and caregivers in healthcare environments. You can help deliver the healing power of music in Denver at Children's Hospital of Colorado ! Shifts typically occur between 5:00-7:00pm local time. MOC Volunteer Musicians perform acoustically at the bedsides of patients and are always accompanied by a trained MOC Volunteer Guide. The Volunteer Musician plays one song per room and interacts with patients, their families and hospital staff. All music must be memorized and lyrics and commentary MUST be appropriate for a hospital setting. MOC has a song database that musicians must pick from when they select their repertoire for hospital visits. Other material outside of the approved song list may be submitted to MOC staff for approval. Volunteer Musician applicants must submit an audition video which will be evaluated for suitability prior to acceptance into the program. MOC’s certification process is as follows: Volunteer Audition Video and Application MOC Certification (includes Background check) Option to shadow an MOC Bedside shift prior to start date Volunteer Musicians will become a badged volunteer at the Children's Hospital of Colorado. Each healthcare facility typically has additional requirements including a separate application, orientation, ID badge and immunizations like TB tests and/or flu shots. Volunteer Musicians may be asked to submit their immunization records to the facility where they will be volunteering. Individual healthcare facilities may have additional requirements including TB tests and/or flu/COVID shots.

The Volunteer Guide is the "eyes and ears" during the MOC Bedside shift as well as the liaison between the hospital and the Volunteer Musician. Volunteer Guides know the protocols, policies and expectations of the healthcare facilities in which they volunteer and are responsible for making sure these guidelines are upheld during the shift. Volunteer Guides are critical to the success of MOC Bedside! Volunteer Guide applicants must submit an audition video which will be evaluated for suitability prior to acceptance into the program. Description
Musicians On Call (MOC) brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare environments. We are looking for VOLUNTEER GUIDES and VOLUNTEER MUSICIANS to help us deliver the healing power of music. As a volunteer with Musicians On Call, you can brighten the days of hospitalized patients - a truly rewarding experience. MOC currently has volunteer opportunities for both Volunteer Guides and Volunteer Musicians at our weekly Bedside Performance Programs.
