Mission Statement

1- To save the lives of Southern and Central Arizona dogs on euthanasia lists ("e-lists.") at high kill rural pounds and shelters. 2- To find safe, stable, loving homes for the adoptable dogs CCR takes in from high kill shelter euthanasia lists. 3- Provide life-care (sanctuary and hospice) for dogs who are elderly, "special needs" and/or who have chronic medical conditions. 4- When overwhelming need to save a life is presented, CCR will take in other species of animals, in particular cats facing euthanasia and farmed animals facing slaughter.

Description

Cochise Canine Rescue (CCR) began conceptually in 2012, and incorporated in the State of Arizona in 2013 and became a 501 c3 in 2014.

CCR is located on 5 acres in rural Southern Arizona, approximately 30 minutes north of the town of Benson AZ.

While CCR takes in animals we can "re-home" we have found ourselves accepting an ever-growing number of senior animals, animals with chronic medical conditions (in particular "Valley Fever") deaf, blind and or animals in need of hospice due to cancer or other terminal conditions. Often these animals have been found abandoned on the street or in vacated homes, in addition to being found on euthanasia lists from so-called municipal "shelters."

At the present time CCR has 34 dogs, 10 cats, as well as 16 "farmed" animals, including two donkeys, two sheep, two goats, two pot belly pigs and several fowl.

Cochise Canine does not breed any animals in our care.

Cochise Canine Rescue is an accredited member of the American Sanctuary Association and a proud member of PACC911.
