Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Our primary mission is to provide Service Dogs and service dog training to persons with disabilities to help improve their quality of life and help them lead a more independent and productive life using positive training methods. We also offer training, certification and insurance coverage for Therapy Dogs to visit facilities such as nursing homes, hospitals, and other facilities to provide affection and comfort to those in need. Our volunteer therapy team group visits facilities throughout Kentucky and other states. Our positive training methods are also used for basic obedience and other classes as scheduled and listed on our website.
We are an organization that uses positive training methods to offer service dog programs to persons with disabilities to help them become more independent and have a better quality of life. We include the person in the training process so the dog begins working for the person more quickly and there is no long waiting list to obtain a dog. This concept also helps us lower the cost of getting a service dog considerably.
We also also train, certify and insure therapy dogs in our therapy dog program. This is a volunteer program where members use their own dog to go on therapy visits to hospitals, nursing homes, schools, libraries and other facilities and locations to offer comfort and joy to those who need it.
