FBCLA is a sovereign and democratic New Testament church under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. This church shall be governed only by its congregation in all phases of its spiritual and temporal life.

This church is subject to the control of no other body, but it recognizes and sustains the obligations of mutual counsel and cooperation that are common among Southern Baptist churches.
