Mission Statement

Mission of SILK Empowered - We help rebuild women's lives that have been victims of domestic violence through programs focused on building Strength, Independence, Love and Knowledge (SILK) that will empower them to have eventual home ownership.

Vision Statement - We want to break the cycle of domestic violence by empowering every woman in the United States to become self-sufficient.

Description

SILK Empowered offers self-esteem programs and a bridge to homeownership. We offer programs such as physical fitness in shelters and depression prevention seminars. We also mak e rental housing available to victims of domestic violence by purchasing properties and creating a network of like-minded property owners who will make their properties available to the women at a subsidized rate or who will assist them while they are repairing their credit issues and eventually enable them to purchase a home.
