Supporting burn survivors as they face the challenges of recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration.
Description
Burn Advocates Network, Ltd. is a nonprofit organization which supports burn survivors as they face the challenges of recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration. Burn Advocates provides support to burn camps by identifying donors and sponsoring musical and recreational programs. These camps are an effective means of helping young burn survivors cope with their painful new world. By meeting other burn survivors with similar disabilities and by engaging in "normal" childhood experiences, these children become better equipped to reintegrate into their communities. To increase awareness about the plight of our combat-burned veterans we host events such as our Rally Around the Statue of Liberty and Sgt. Merlin German Memorial Day Rally. These inspirational rallies often feature hydrobikes, which are pedal-powered water bicycles that have become the symbols of our Burned Veterans Project.
