Description

AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMMING - CITY OF ROCHESTER, NY.

When Joe U Posner founded Quad A for Kids in 1994, he envisioned an organization that helped the youth of Rochester succeed by learning academic and behavioral skills from arts and athletic programs. Joe sought Athletics and Arts activities for kids as a way to lead to Academic Achievement.--the four A's of our name!

Over time we have developed our own afterschool programs based on research. Since 2004 Quad A for Kids has grown from 1 school to 4 (130 to 410 kids) that operate 3 hours/day, 5 days/week, 32 weeks/year. We still offer our students experiences in the arts and athletics such as ballet, African beading, horseback riding, and martial arts, where they learn many social skills. We do academics in a fun way such as lego robotics, coding, Soap Box Derby, website design and cooking. All of our kids engage in hands-on learning that is centered around STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and all have 30 minutes of exercise each day. They get a snack and a hot meal before they go home and the program is free to their families.

If you're passionate about giving back to your community and you'd like a way to make a difference in children's lives in the city of Rochester, Quad A for Kids is the organization for you.
