The Quad A for Kids mission is to promote the personal and social development of our City of Rochester youth by:
creating, continuously improving, and supporting youth-centered out-of-school time programs that produce measureable results.
creating a culture whereby our youth value education and see a path forward to a successful future.
building a network of community partners to support the advancement of education in the arts, athletics and academics.
AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMMING - CITY OF ROCHESTER, NY.
Why do we call ourselves Quad A?
When Joe U Posner founded Quad A for Kids in 1994, he envisioned an organization that helped the youth of Rochester succeed by learning academic and behavioral skills from activity based programs.
Coaches, teachers, and mentors in a range of activities, many of which had an academic component, would help these youths grow.
In short, Joe combined Athletics and Arts in a way that lead to Academic Achievement. And thus, the four A's of our name!
The research is clear that youth who spend significant time outside of the normal school hours in safe and caring environments are better equipped to handle the many challenges that face our children today.
Quad A staff work together to develop strategies, lesson plans and activities that promote personal, social and academic skills. Quad A offers programs that use fun techniques to build self-esteem, develop positive behaviors, and resolve conflicts peacefully.
