Mission Statement

The Isle of Wight County Humane society is an all volunteer organization that promotes responsible pet care and the humane treatment of animals in our local community.

Description

Isle of Wight County Humane Society members take in homeless and unwanted animals and provide them with foster care. The humane society provides medical care and treatment. When the animals are healthy and socialized, they are adopted out to permanent homes. Our pet adoption program is very successful and we find homes for hundreds of dogs and cats each year.


The Isle of Wight County Humane Society is separate from Isle of Wight County Animal Control and Shelter. We recieve no federal, state, or local fudning and rely entirely on public donations and our volunteers.

I have really enjoyed Fostering through the Isle of Wight County Humane Society. This organization is fun, professional, and committed to helping animals. I have fostered 2 dogs so far and it has been a blast working with the dogs and placing them in their forever homes. I would highly recommend this opportunity to Isle of Wight County residents who love animals and want to help shelter pets.
