Sibling Connection supports the creation of enduring family relationships and community connections for sisters and brothers experiencing foster care in Massachusetts. Our work is accomplished through innovative programs and practices restoring and strengthening the lives of siblings who have been separated when placed in the foster care system.
Sibling Connections supports siblings separated by the public foster care system. There is over 10,000 youth in the foster care system, and often at times, siblings are separated due to the lack of foster home available for siblings. We currently provide monthly gatherings, called Sibling Sundays, in three areas of the state: Boston, Lowell, and Springfield. During the summer time, we offer a week-long camping program called Camp To Belong, in Maine, during the month of August. In addition to camp, we now host two-weekend retreats, one in November and the second in February, located in Harvard. Sibling Connections is supported by the volunteer support of over 80+ individuals statewide. Volunteers stand as the heartbeat of our organization and greatly make a difference in the lives of youth in foster care. So often, kids in the foster care of many adults in their lives who are paid to be in it.
