Mission Statement

The objective of the Club shall be charitable as defined by Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The general nature of the objective of this corporation shall be to promote, by cooperation of its members, educational and charitable advancement of the community and to aid and encourage the general welfare of its members and their interests

To start, picture in your mind your favorite tree and then follow as we illustrate how all parts grow to form a network of women helping their community, their state and their world.

Description

The GFWC, founded in 1889 and headquartered in Washington, DC, is the foundation, the trunk. The mission statement is "The General Federation of Women's Clubs us an international women's organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service."

Internationally, club members are able to contribute valuable hours within their communities by volunteering in the various departments: Arts, Conservation, Education, Home Life, International and Public Affairs.

The GFWC Woman's Club of Ocala, Inc. was formed in 1909 and will be celebrating its 100th Birthday in January 2009.

For your convenience, you may attend either day or night meetings.

Day: Generally 2nd Tuesday of each month 11:45 am Elks Lodge, 702 NE 25th Avenue ---Lunch

Night: Generally 2nd Monday of each month 7 pm Elks Lodge 702 NE 25th Avenue --- Dessert
