Mission Statement

The Council is organized for, and shall act as a liaison between the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) and the community to: A. Promote mutual understanding, cooperation and involvement of the community, as determined to be in the best interests of the youth receiving services from the Texas Juvenile Justice Department. B. Create additional financial and community resources to enhance the care, treatment , and rehabilitation of youth within TJJD and their families C. Promote volunteer involvement benefiting the youth assigned to the TJJD San Antonio Parole Office, Ayres Halfway House, and contracted programs serving adjudicated youth.

Description

The Volunteer Council for Texas Youth in San Antonio is a charitable, non-profit organization whose members help link Texas Youth Commission youth to activities and resources in our community. We help youth find positive recreational activities, reward academic achievement, assist with a variety of programs for parents. Raising money will help Council members find opportunities for youths to explore different career options as well as to learn new skills. The Council is dedicated to "Building a better tomorrow by supporting the youth of today".
