The mission of the James Sewell Ballet is to create and perform works that connect artists with audiences and to advance contemporary ballet.

Description

Founded in 1990, JSB presents concert seasons three times annually in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, takes performances each year to Rochester and St. Cloud, and has presented before audiences in more than 50 Minnesota communities. JSB also has performed in 27 other states as well as in Canada, Iceland, and Bermuda. The Company has worked and performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies, Rochester Orchestra and Chorale, North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Minnesota Opera, Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus, VocalEssence, Dale Warland Singers, Children's Theater Company, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Weisman Art Institute, Minnesota Dance Theatre, Ballet Arts Minnesota, and the American Composer's Forum. James Sewell has also served as the choreographer for Guthrie Theater mainstage productions.
