Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which every person can experience God's love and can live and grow into all that God intends.

Description

The North Carolina Habitat for Humanity AmeriCorps Program recruits AmeriCorps members to serve at local affiliates and nonprofit located throughout the state. AmeriCorps members provide support to local Habitat affiliates in Construction, Family, and Volunteer Services.

AmeriCorps is a National Service Program designed to engage AmeriCorps members in direct service and capacity-building to address unmet community needs. AmeriCorps members dedicate 1,700 hours to service with a nonprofit, faith-based, or community organization for which they receive a modest living allowance (approximately $11,400), health benefits, and are eligible for an education award ($4,725).
