Mission Statement

The AARP Tax-Aide program, helps low to moderate income persons with special attention to those over 60 taxpaye, prepare their federal and state taxes. We help our tax payers have more discretionary income for everyday essentials, such as food, utilities and housing, by assisting with FREE tax services, so they receive all their applicable tax credits and deductions.

Description

Training for volunteers is provided once a year (January)which covers tax law, and the use of TaxWise computer software in tax preparation to achieve accurate tax returns for our grateful clients. Equipment is provided during the tax season which runs February through April. Program is in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Minnesota Department of Revenue (MNDOR). Program is nationwide, it is a team effort including 38,000 volunteers.
