Description
The 725-acre Northwest Trek Wildlife Park (NWT), founded in 1975, is one of three facilities of the Zoological and Environmental Education Division (ZEED) of Metro Parks Tacoma. The park resulted from the vision of Dr. David and Mrs. Connie Hellyer, who donated their land as an ecologically balanced microcosm of habitats suitable for a variety of North American wildlife. Their intent was that it would be developed into a wildlife park to be enjoyed by families and children. The Northwest Trek Foundation, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, raises private funds to support NWT’s mission
