Kwanzaa Community Church

Description

Kwanzaa was chartered as the first African American lead Presbyterian congregation in the State of Minnesota in February of 2002 after four years of development. Kwanzaa’s strategic planning process and organizing principles provide a basis for the work of dismantling stigma, racism, sexism and classism, interrupting the systems that lead to generational poverty. Kwanzaa’s vision is to "Proclaim freedom to body, soul and mind." A critical component of our vision is the congregation’s active engagement with the community beyond our membership, promoting solidarity, community and total environmental health.
