Mission Statement

Students Working for Equal Rights (SWER) is a grassroots student movement with groups active in cities and towns all over Florida, from Homestead to Tallahassee. Each year about 5,000 undocumented students graduate from Florida high schools, but only 5% go on to college, compared with 75% of our high school classmates.

This has got to change!

That's why we are organizing, educating ourselves and our communities, building a strong movement to take action on the issues that affect our lives. We are the next generation of leaders and we are stepping up and demanding to be heard. Join us!

Description

At SWER, our mission is to train youth leaders throughout the state of Florida to take a stand on the issues affecting their communities, particularly advocating on behalf of the immigrant right's movement.
