To enhance their lives through community service, contests, recreational activities and special events. To provide resources for job training and job creation for youth and adults through community development initiatives. To remind all that YOUTH MATTER.

Youth Matter Inc./Youth Matter America.
Our purpose is to enhance lives of youth through self-esteem building, mentoring, job creation, after-school programs, and community development. We find resources for families in need of relief efforts through our One Family at a Time Initiative.

Our major operating programs are: 1) Youth Matter Band Program - an after-school music program for inner-city youth - program has been as large as 150 band members; 2) Circle of Love - a teen girls mentoring program; 3) Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Oratorical Competition with activities for children of all school levels; 4) One Family at a Time, a program where we provide relief efforts in assisting families and youth, started in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina; 5) Scholarship Programs, Musiq 4 Life Scholarship Fund, H.R.Long Scholarship Fund, and Summer Camp Scholarship Fund. Our targeted audience in our programs is at-risk and low-income families. We also create projects that involve the parents in assisting them with jobs, fatherhood and parenting programs. The involvement of the business community is solicited in these efforts, and they have willingly been an important team player toward our success.
