Our six school based health clinics that comprise SHCSCC, serve low income children from birth to 19 years of age regardless of their ability to pay or their legal residency status. Our bilingual staff provides these services at each of our six school based clinics: urgent care of illnesses and injuries, physical exams and sports physicals, monitoring and treatment of chronic diseases such as diabetes and asthma, vaccines and immunizations, confidential lab tests, mental health support and referrals, nutritional counseling and health education, assistance with enrollment in low cost health insurance, reproductive health, prescriptions, and dental screening and referral. In 2007, the six clinics had a combined patient visit count of 15,507.
