Our mission is to connect communities with their food through education and demonstration of local, sustainable food systems.
FoodChain reconnects people with their food by providing education and demonstration of innovative, sustainable food production. We operate an indoor aquaponics system in an old bread factory in downtown Lexington, KY, in which we harvest tilapia and grow edible leafy greens in the same closed-loop system. We are now in the process of exanding our operations to include a kitchen and processing facility that will provide cooking classes and job training for local community members.
