The mission of the Kern Community Foundation is to enhance the quality of life for all people in Kern County by encouraging philanthropy, by providing services to donors, and assisting those who serve the needs of the community.

Description

The Kern Community Foundation was established in 1999 with a grant from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and organizational assistance from the California Community Foundation.In nine years, KCF has built $15.3 million in assets among 90 charitable funds, with the overarching goal of building permanent endowments.With a 3.85-fte professional staff led by President and CEO Noel Daniells, KCF has supported 250+ nonprofit organizations with $3.5 million in cumulative grants.As the Kern Community Foundation has grown and evolved, so have the numbers, interests and evaluative requirements of donors to the community foundation.With this evolution has come an increased awareness of the high level of accountability that should be provided not only to donors, but also to the community overall.
