Mission Statement

COO is an innovative partnership between residents, the city of San Francisco, and philanthropic organizations that is revitalizing our city's struggling neighborhoods. It is a new system that fundamentally does three things:

1. Empowers residents to make real decisions and influence the change process - from selecting the service providers who will be funded through COO to formally holding the city accountable for real results - residents are in the driver's seat
2. Links the efforts of the city, philanthropy, and the community together to ensure residents have easy access to the services they need - regardless of what city department or nonprofit provides them - and that reduces duplication and fills in gaps in the services available in these neighborhoods
3. Connects residents to genuine opportunities created by the economic development occurring in their community and citywide.
