The mission of the Friends of the Union Pacific Railroad Museum, is to educate the public about the past, present, and future of America’s largest railroad and the railroad industry.

Description

The Union Pacific Railroad Museum is housed in a beautifully restored Carnegie Library building in Council Bluffs IA. A free museum with exhibits dedicated to sharing the last 150 years of Union Pacific history, our newest exhibit, "Building America" opened in 2012 and explores the beginning of the company in 1862 using cutting edge technology and an immersive design. With over 25,000 visitors a year from all 50 states and over 70 countries the Union Pacific Railroad Museum is truly a community treasure.
