Description
SIDEWALKER
Walks beside the rider during the class, assist with mounting and
dismounting. Ensures that the rider gets the most out of the lesson
while fostering as much independence as possible. During class the
sidewalker provides stability and ensures that the rider stays in the proper
riding alignment while on the horse.
HORSELEADER
Attend to the horse during mounting, lead the horse as directed
by the instructor during class, return the horse to the stall
after class. During the class, the leader cues the horse and rider
and keeps both of them safe. The leader is in charge of
making sure the horse is under control at all times, while still
allowing the rider to be as independent as possible.
GENERAL HORSECARE
Groomers
Tackers These volunteers are responsible for assisting the Barn Leader
in grooming and completing tack changes on the horse,
and helping with general barn clean up such as tack cleaning
and stall cleaning.
. STALL CLEANERS Responsible for cleaning of the stalls and all isleways FEEDERS Assist with feeding of horses and availble to fill in if Barn
Manager is to be away for any reason EQUIPMENT MANAGER Is responsible for assisting the instructor with retrieving equipment
that may be needed in the arena. They also assist with many of
the games and activities that the students participate in. All
equipment/toy assistants must attend the volunteer training session.
VOLUNTEER/FUNDRAISORS These committees meet one time per month and are
responsible for the fundraising and volunteer recognition
& recruitment for the organization SPECIAL EVENTS These people help with special events including set up
and clean up and provide support for the activity.
Special events help is also needed to help find or make
items for our silent auction and raffles
