Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Skyland Workforce Center is a new initiative, in cooperation with The Workplace DC and the development of the Skyland Town Center, to co-locate programs and services that connect job seekers with positions, training, and resources that can help them successfully obtain and retain employment.
Skyland Workforce Center is a joint project of The Workplace DC, a group of local non-profit organizations that provide employment-related services, and the development team for the Skyland Town Center construction site.
We aim to provide a continuum of holistic, high-quality workforce development programs in one location, leading to work-ready candidates, job placement, economic self-sufficiency, and improved quality of life.
Five on-site partners collaborate at the Center:
Byte Back offers computer literacy classes
Samaritan Ministry provides case management
Southeast Ministryprovides GED tutoring and adult basic education
STRIVE DC offers work readiness training and job placement
Thrive DC provides employment skills development and case management
Building Bridges Across the River, the non-profit that manages THEARC, also manages the Center.
