Description

Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay, Inc. ("RTTB") is a non-profit organization that was formed in 2000 by members of the Tampa Bay Builders Association (TBBA) and the Greater Tampa Association of Realtors (GTAR) in response to the increasing need for residential housing rehabilitation programs to improve living conditions for very low and low income families, especially those of senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

RTTB's goal is to preserve affordable homeownership and reduce substandard housing through working partnership with corporations and county and city governments. RTTB was born out of a fundamental belief that all people deserve to live in safe and decent housing. RTTB assists existing low-income homeowners by providing necessary repairs free of charge. These necessary repairs often include home modifications, roofing, plumbing, and electrical repairs and other improvements.

RTTB's mission is to Repair the Homes of those in need. Through this mission, RTTB intents to preserve and revitalize houses and communities, in the Tampa Bay Area, assuring that low-income homeowners live in warmth, safety and independence.

RTTB is a chapter affiliate of Rebuilding Together, a national organization that is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and promotes the replication and coordination of affiliates throughout the United States. Founded in 1988, the national office provides assistance to affiliates in program development, board and staff development, marketing, communications, and financial management.
