Mission Statement
Provide emergency and non-emergency medical services to residents, visitors and others in the Lehman, Middle Smithfield, Price and Smithfield Townships of Pennsylvania.
Description
Bushkill Emergency Corps is a non-profit, volunteer ambulance service established in 1965. The organization operates the following services: Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, non-emergency transports (ALS, BLS and WC Van) as well as a Medical Search and Rescue team. It services approximately 450 square miles and handles about 3300 calls per year. The fleet consists of two ALS units, five BLS units and one wheelchair van. Bushkill Emergency Corps serves as a mutual aid organization to surrounding agencies. The organization hosts and conducts training programs for its members and those of other services including, CPR, AED, Medic Assist, Infection Control, etc. Interested individuals may apply for membership beginning at age 16 up. The organization encourages community service and provides both emergency and non-emergency as well as auxillary (fund raising, clerical) opportunities for membership.
