The Polish Library is a lending library serving the needs of the Polish community in Metropolitan Washington as well as Polish-Americans and all others interested in Polish literature, culture, history, and present day Poland.

HOURSTuesday 7:30 P.M.- 9:30 P.M.Thursday 1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.Saturday 11:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. The Polish Library is a lending library serving the needs of the Polish community in Metropolitan Washington as well as Polish-Americans and all others interested in Polish literature, culture, history, and present day Poland. We have a collection of 5,000 Polish books, 1,500 English language books on Polish subjects, and over 120 films on video. In our reading room we have available several Polish magazines and newspapers , such as Kultura, Polityka, Wprost, Tygodnik Powszechny, Twoj Styl, Nowy Dziennik. The Library was started and is operated by The Friends of the Polish Library in Washington, a private, non-profit organization incorporated in Washington D.C. The Friends have an elected 9-member Board. Everyone is welcome to become a member. Annual dues are $20 for individuals, $30 for families, $10 for students. Only members can take out books and videos. Members receive the library's bi-monthly bulletin listing cultural and social events of Polish interest. We welcome all volunteers who want to help with library work. Established in 1991, The Friends of the Polish Library is also one of the most active Polish-American groups in Metropolitan Washington, organizing and sponsoring many cultural and social events.
