Ronald McDonald House Pasadena is seeking experienced volunteers to assist with finish carpentry, cabinet installation, electrical wiring and fixture installation, general plumbing, and painting skills for our program. We are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on their child’s health. The House provides a home-away-from-home for families with critically-ill children, keeping them close to one another, their doctors, and needed medical care. As a volunteer, you will contribute to our mission by providing your expertise in plumbing and electrical, finish carpentry and cabinet installation, and painting. You will work alongside other volunteers and staff to ensure that we offer quality repairs that meet the needs of the families staying at the house. Responsibilities: Perform finish carpentry and tasks as needed. Install and repair electrical wiring and fixtures as needed. Assist with general plumbing tasks as needed. Perform painting tasks as needed. Work collaboratively with staff to complete all repairs and maintenance tasks. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures. Requirements: At least one year of experience in plumbing and electrical. Must be bilingual in Spanish and English. A current driver's license. Must be 21 years old or older to participate. Preferred Time Commitment: We prefer volunteers who can commit to 2-3 hours, 2-3 times a week for 2-6 months. This will allow us to complete the necessary repairs in a timely manner. Physical Requirements: This opportunity is on-site, and you will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. We will provide all necessary safety equipment and training to ensure that you can work safely and effectively.
