Mission Statement

The Literary Festival of Charlotte (formerly called the Charlotte Book Fair) organically formed in 2011 because a small group had a passion and goal to ignite young people's love for reading.

Description

Over the past year, the team's love of reading has evolved into a love of literacy that explores the natural integration with culture, art, music, entertainment and science. Thus, the team has evolved the focus from a book fair to a literary festival. While each year's event is supposed to be fun and memorable, the intent is to make it meaningful and provide a means and outlet to help close the literacy gaps that ultimately effects everyone.
