Brighten the Life of a Disabled or Elder Adult

Do you enjoy helping others? Can you make personal decisions for adults who are unable to make their own decisions? If you answered yes, then become a Volunteer Guardian! Guardians are needed when adults can no longer make important life decisions for themselves. These at-risk adults need protection from abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation. You can provide that protection through advocacy and decision-making. In just a couple of hours a month, you can make a tremendous positive impact in the life of an at-risk adult. A free on-line training session will help you become a successful volunteer guardian. On-going support and assistance are just a phone call away. Make an impact, get involved today! Assist a Disabled or Elder Adult

Do you enjoy visiting and helping disabled and/or elder adults? Do you want to make a difference in someone's life? If you said yes, then become a Volunteer Guardian! You'll make health, welfare and/or financial decisions and advocate for adults who can no longer make decisions for themselves. Just a couple hours of your time each month will make a tremendous impact on the quality of life of an at-risk disabled or elder adult. After thorough screening, training and matching by the program coordinator, you will be appointed the legal guardian by the court. On-going assistance is also provided to help you be successful. You must be 21 or older. Volunteers are screened with criminal and caregiver background checks and must take a 3-hour free online training course through UW Green Bay before becoming a guardian. Ongoing support is always available. NOTE: Volunteers have no financial obligation for the ward.
