Mission Statement

The vision of the Women's Resource Center of the New River Valley, Inc. is to implement change toward a violence-free society by providing comprehensive services to victims of sexual assault; education to the public-at-large; and training to allied professionals and professional peers on the issues of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Description

The Women's Resource Center of the New River Valley provides programs and services for adult and child victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. It is a private, non-profit human service agency serving residents of the counties of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, and Pulaski, and the City of Radford. Begun in 1977, it is the oldest shelter operation for battered women in Virginia. The Women's Resource Center ensures confidentiality to all clients and all services are offered free of charge.
