Mission Statement

The AIDS Foundation of Western Massachusetts, Inc., (AFWM) is a non-profit public organization dedicated to assisting people who are living with HIV and AIDS in Hampden and Hampshire counties.

Description

The spirit of the AIDS Foundation of Western Massachusetts can be found in a single word: Dignity

The AIDS Foundation of Western Massachusetts is proud to say they have provided individual grants totaling over half a MILLION dollars of support. Half of all their grants have been awarded to families with young children affected by HIV/AIDS.

In addition to awarding grants to individuals living with HIV/AIDS who are in need of financial support, the Foundation is expanding their outreach into the community. Unfortunately, the spread of HIV/AIDS isn't slowing down in Western Massachusetts. The Foundation is rising to the challenge to put an end to that trend. The core mission to help those individuals living with HIV/AIDS remains the same. The mission of the Foundation now also recognizes the necessity of rallying the community to stop any further spread of this virus. The Foundation will do this with support, compassion and most importantly, education.

Working on the planning board last year was an incredible and rewarding experience. I look forward to each and every meeting. I can't stress enough how great the team is and how much fun we have in the process of doing great things in our community! Help us grow and in turn we can then reach out to more people that desperately need our help!

In the past 38 years, I have volunteered for many different organizations, but the AIDS Walk Committe was by far the most rewarding, fun experience of all. I've met lifelong friends in this group and honestly looked forward to every meeting we had. Please consider joining this group--you won't be sorry!

This organization has a proven history of commitment and ethics. These tough times makes the work of the AIDS Foundation that much more necessary. Not to mention all their events are so much fun!
