Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Judy Dworin Performance Project (JDPP) is a nonprofit organization of professional artists who -- on stage, in schools, in prisons and in the community -- innovate, inspire, educate and collaborate. JDPP harnesses the arts as a powerful catalyst for creative expression through performance, community building and positive change. Originally an umbrella for independent artists, over the years we have developed three distinct programmatic offerings--The Ensemble, the Moving Matters! Residency Program, and the Bridging Boundaries Arts Intervention Program.
JDPP is the home for three distinct programmatic offerings. The Ensemble inspires change through innovative, movement-based, multi-arts performance on stage that examines social and personal issues of our time. The Moving Matters! Residency Program is one of the stalwart manifestations of JDPP’s work, spanning a progressive and expanding twenty-year engagement at the Parkville Community School in Hartford, CT. These collaborative arts education programs explore movement and the creative arts as tools for learning and personal growth. Moving Matters! Residencies have also served the R.J. Kinsella Magnet School, the Renzulli Academy and various programs through Hartford Performs. The Bridging Boundaries Arts Intervention Program couples arts intervention with social work to bridge the forced separations of populations affected by incarceration and has become a notable component in support of Governor Malloy’s Second Chance Society initiatives.
