Mission Statement

We are dedicated to promoting educational discourse on a variety of topics and giving kids a voice so that they know the power of their own words and will not about their own competence and ability to be a force of change in the world. We also believe strongly in the camaraderie aspect of these competitive events - we try and foster an accepting atmosphere for all our participants.

Description

Hi! This page is for the Davis High School Speech and Debate Team. We compete in many tournaments in the Sacramento area and need help from volunteer judges. We compete in both speech and debate (often at separate tournaments). These events include debate events (Lincoln Douglas, Parliamentary, Public Forum, Congressional, and Policy), interpretation events (Dramatic, Humorous, Duo, Thematic, and Oratorical), original events (Oratory, Advocacy, Prose and Poetry, and Expository), and limited prep events (Impromptu, and National/International Extemporaneous). Our team has about 50 members, ranging from high school sophomores to seniors. There is no prerequisite to join, and, in the same way, there is no prerequisite to judge! We really appreciate your help!
